CranioSacral therapy is a subtle, hands-on modality that engages the craniosacral system — the membranes and fluid surrounding your brain and spinal cord — through very light touch (about the weight of a nickel). The intent isn't to push muscles around; it's to give your nervous system permission to unwind holding patterns it's been stuck in, often for years. Most clients leave feeling like something quiet has been rearranged.
CranioSacral training is separate from massage licensure and takes years to develop skill in. You're paying for a trained pair of hands that know exactly where — and how lightly — to work.
The mechanisms are still debated in the research literature, and we'll be honest about that. What we can say: clients with migraines, TMJ, and chronic tension report significant symptomatic relief. Try one session and judge for yourself.
Yes — many clients alternate. If you're working through migraines or TMJ, alternating a CranioSacral session with a deep-tissue session gives you the best of both approaches.
Some clients feel warmth, subtle pulsing, or emotional releases. Others feel very little during and then notice the shift the next morning. Both are common.
